Real Skateboards was founded by Tommy Guerrero and Jim Thiebaud, who skated together throughout the 1980s as members of Powell Peralta’s legendary Bones Brigade. After Thiebaud joined Natas Kaupas at SMA (Santa Monica Airlines), the two reunited at the end of the decade when Jim Thiebaud and Fausto Vitello encouraged Tommy Guerrero to help create a new company for skateboarding’s evolving era.
