Creature Skateboards is closely linked to legendary skater Darren Navarrette, who recently celebrated 25 years with the brand. Navarrette’s story revolves around transitions and half-pipes. Born in Minneapolis in October 1976, he was drawn to transitions and curves as soon as he started skateboarding. He began his career on the half-pipe and quickly progressed to a professional level. Life has never been easy for vert skaters, especially Darren Navarrette. His passion for vert kept him riding transitions even during the 1990s, when vert skateboarding had almost disappeared and very few people still practised it.
