Polar Skate Co. was founded by legendary skateboarder and filmmaker Pontus Alv after his work with Cliché and Mad Circle in the early 2000s. After travelling worldwide, he returned to Sweden in 2003 to focus on future projects, particularly skateboard filmmaking.

Alv established his reputation with the skate films “Strongest of the Strange” and “In Search of the Miraculous”. Drawing on this experience, he launched Polar Skate Co. in Malmö around 2011.
